Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyse and compare the effects of Circuit Training and Fartlek Training on physical fitness efficiency among Tribal and Non-Tribal high school female volley ball players. A total of 50 female volley ball players participated in the study, with 25 players assigned to the Circuit Training group and 25 players assigned to the Fartlek Training group. The sample also included an equal representation of 25 Tribal and 25 Non-Tribal players. A quantitative experimental research design was adopted using pre-test and post-test measures. The selected physical fitness variables were speed, agility, endurance, strength, and flexibility. The results revealed that both Circuit Training and Fartlek Training produced statistically significant improvements in all selected physical fitness variables, as the obtained p-values were less than 0.05. In the Circuit Training group, significant improvements were found in speed, agility, endurance, strength, and flexibility. Similarly, the Fartlek Training group also showed significant improvement in all selected variables. The comparative analysis between Circuit and Fartlek training further showed significant differences among both Tribal and Non-Tribal players. Based on the mean values, Fartlek Training was found to be more effective in improving speed, agility, and endurance, while Circuit Training showed better improvement in strength and flexibility. Therefore, the study concludes that both Circuit Training and Fartlek Training are effective methods for improving physical fitness efficiency among Tribal and Non-Tribal high school female volleyball players.
